More royalist than the king? By closing its six logistics warehouses in France on Thursday noon, Amazon has gone further than justice. The Nanterre court, judging the lax group on its security obligations, had only forced it to limit its activity to essential products (hygiene, medical equipment or food). Time to do a new risk assessment.
The decision follows an interim procedure launched by Sud-Solidaires (29% at Amazon). The union believes that the e-merchant has not consulted his employees enough on the safety measures and has not sufficiently ensured their respect. Amazon complied with the decision, starting a new risk assessment procedure for its 13,000 warehouse workers on Thursday. But the tension remains very strong on the file with the unions.
