For no apparent reason, some brands that provided electronics began to disappear from Amazon. Names such as Aukey, Mpow and RavPower, responsible for providing electronic gadgets, are examples that are no longer part of the platform.
But now the mystery has been unraveled and Amazon has revealed that it has permanently banned 600 Chinese brands that violated its online sales police through fraudulent reviews.
Amazon bans 600 Chinese brands for violating online selling rules
According to information revealed by Amazon to the site The Verge, the platform has banned more than 600 Chinese brands in 3,000 different seller accounts. The reason is that these brands violated Amazon's online sales policy due to fraudulent reviews.
This information thus justifies the sudden disappearance from the platform of some names of gadget providers, such as Aukey, Mpow, RavPower, Vava, TaoTronics and Choetech. But this was only a small part of what was to come.
The count of all brands took place after 5 months of 'cleaning'. According to an Amazon spokesperson, these 600 brands were banned because they intentionally, repeatedly and significantly violated Amazon's policies regarding review rules.
This attitude of the platform started when companies like RavPower started to offer gift cards in exchange for evaluations to their brand.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the company then offered vouchers worth 35 dollars (~30 euros) for evaluations of a product sold directly by Amazon.
Following my fake review story, listings for Amazon-native electronics brand RAVPower are gone.
The company offered $35 gift cards for reviews on a product that was sold directly by Amazon itself. RAVPower acted as a wholesale vendor on that listing.https://t.co/6nazZZ5Wtb pic.twitter.com/znp9u48YHV

Therefore, the aim of these brands was to give a false perception that their products had positive reviews in the online store. This would lead to more people trusting and buying those same products.
