Amazon opened a physical store in New York City last week that only sells the top rated products on its site. Our correspondent on site, Sabrina Quagliozzi was there.
The American giant Amazon has chosen the very chic district of Soho in Manhattan to open a store where only products that have obtained at least 4 stars (on a scale of 5) will be on sale. This is yet another example of the group’s ambitions in the physical retail trade.
For several years, Amazon has gradually opened physical points of sale, mainly bookstores and “pop-up” or ephemeral stores, until now dedicated to technological products. This time, with Amazon’s “4-Star”, Jeff Bezos’ group offers a selection of products from Amazon and other brands that are top rated by buyers. Amazon thus uses the data drawn from online sales to make its product selection.
