American employees of distribution company Amazon will now be able to unite more easily in unions. The company is committed to removing a number of significant obstacles to this.

This is stated in an agreement that Amazon has concluded with the National Labor Council. Amazon should better inform current and past employees of their rights, and should not prevent them from congregating on company premises outside of working hours.
Amazon previously made it difficult for unions by preventing employees from staying on site after hours. In this way, union members had a harder time reaching other workers.
So far Amazon has gotten away with union issues without too much trouble. Most complaints were dismissed by giving permission to hang information in the cafeteria.
