Renowned Filmmaker and Author Collaborate on the Script
The sequel’s script will be penned by Matthew López, who made his debut with the original film. López will co-write the script alongside Casey McQuiston, the esteemed author of the source material. Bringing their talents to the production, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Schechter Films are set to produce the sequel. Michael McGrath of Berlanti Schechter Films and Casey McQuiston will serve as executive producers.

The original film, released last August, follows the story of Alex Claremont-Diaz (played by Taylor Zakhar Perez) who, with his mother’s election as President, is propelled into the limelight as the American counterpart to a young royal. Alex’s charismatic image is a marketing goldmine for the White House but becomes problematic when his long-standing feud with British Prince Henry (portrayed by Nicholas Galitzine) is exposed by the tabloids.
