Amazon limits selection in Italy and France

In Italy and France, Amazon no longer accepts orders for many items that are not important for everyday life in the corona virus crisis. This is also due to the fact that the employees in the distribution centers kept more distance from each other to reduce the risk of infection, said a spokesman for the online retailer today. “We need to focus our existing capacity on top priority items.”

As a result, “some items with lower priority” could no longer be ordered on Amazon’s French and Italian websites. The restriction does not apply to retailers who sell their goods via the Amazon platform but do the shipping themselves.

Amazon had already announced a few days ago that it would prioritize increasing its medical and everyday supplies in its logistics centers, while deliveries of other product categories could wait longer at the gates.
