The iPhone 11 suffers a significant price drop on Amazon.
The e-commerce giant Amazon is slashing prices by offering a nice reduction on the iPhone 11, which was billed at €472 this morning, compared to the usual €589. At the time of writing these lines, the price remains attractive: the device is sold for €539, or 8% cheaper than usual. A promotion which is timely for Apple, which will have to sell its stocks before the summer.
Price drops and promotions are rare on Apple products. Resellers align themselves with official Apple prices. However, it is not uncommon for Amazon to sell off its prices, sometimes granting very nice discounts, with reductions that can go up to €170 on certain models, such as the iPhone 12 mini during the last Prime Day.
The e-commerce giant is exploiting the popularity of Apple products to attract new customers. He is cutting back on his margins, even if it means losing money. The practice has already gotten him in trouble. The Italian authorities had also launched an investigation into the agreement between Amazon and Apple in 2020, believing that this close collaboration overshadowed the smallest resellers.
