Amazon Introduces Autonomous Flying CCTV Camera for Home

Ring, owned by Amazon, has unveiled a new CCTV camera designed for indoor use and capable of taking off for home patrols. We are talking about the Always Home Cam device, which is an autonomous drone that flies around the house and shows you the situation in any room.

The developers say that the main idea behind Always Home Cam is to provide different vantage points throughout the house without having to install multiple cameras. After the drone finishes patrolling, it independently returns to the charging station to replenish the expended energy.

It is noted that the drone is capable of operating completely autonomously, but if necessary, the user can specify which route and where exactly to fly. At the first launch, a map of the house is built and the route along which the drone will fly during patrolling is determined. While outside the house, the user can always request an image from any room. The device can be configured in such a way that it is sent flying in the event of some kind of failure in the alarm system. Always Hone Cam can bend around obstacles, and closed propellers will not damage property or harm pets that may be encountered during the flight.

The charging station blocks the drone’s camera, so video recording is only carried out in flight. In addition to providing security, the novelty can be useful for other tasks. For example, after leaving home, a user can check if the stove is off, the window is closed, etc. In order to become the owner of the Ring Always Home Cam, you will have to pay $ 250.
