Amazon Games, a game studio belonging to the retail giant Amazon, announced this Monday (15) a partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises, holder of the rights to the works of JRR Tolkien.
The objective of the partnership is to develop a new MMO of “The Lord of the Rings”, whose launch is already planned for PC and consoles, but without definition of a release date. Check out what is known so far.

The game is still in the early stages of its production and does not yet have a name. However, we know that the idea is to bring an MMO set in Middle-earth that adapts the stories of “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” differently from previous games.
The company’s vice president, Christoph Hartmann, declared that Amazon Games’ main commitment is to bring quality titles to players. Among them, the work of Tolkien. According to him, it was a longtime desire of the producer to bring a new approach to Frodo’s story.
It is important to point out that this is a completely different game from what was already being produced by the company and that ended up being canceled in 2021. There will be no reuse of previous production in this new title.
