An Amazon employee recently revealed on TikTok what her work routine is like, working at night in said company, but now, in another video, the young woman explains that she was fired. What happened?

Social networks are already part of popular culture and, of course, of the habits of young people. In this sense, we are talking about the fact that the TikTok window is undoubtedly important these days, given that, on the one hand, we operate in a context in which short video platforms dominate content on social networks.

In fact, a recent survey conducted by the Pew Research Center of more than 1,000 adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 in the United States announced that YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat are the favorite networks of what we know as “Generation Z”.

So, from this perspective, beyond the great popularity that content creators are gaining, users in general use these platforms to share part of their day-to-day life, thereby generating a highly effective space for interaction among young people.

Putting it in concrete figures, currently and according to data from the report Digital 2023, made by We Are Social and Meltwaterthe number of Internet users worldwide already exceeds five billion, a figure that represents 64.4 percent of the total population.

TikTok, of those five billion, has an audience of 1.7 billion monthly users worldwide, a fact that shows the great relevance of the Chinese social network and that, looking to the future, it will not stop growing. Specialists suggest that, by 2024, the ByteDance platform will exceed two billion users.

Undoubtedly, social networks are changing everything in the way young people socialize and, for some companies, content like that of the now former Amazon employee may not be well received by companies.

On the other hand, at a time when social media continues to gain relevance, there are brands that have gained significant publicity thanks to their employees who, in turn, generate content for social networks. A particular case is that of Oxxo, a brand that, through a couple of creators, has gained in digital conversation.
