Amazon Echo Auto is coming to Germany soon

What is Amazon Echo Auto doing in Germany? Not much so far. Perhaps some don’t even know what Amazon Echo Auto is, so it’s a little fetch. Introduced by Amazon in the late autumn of 2018 in the USA, the piece of hardware was initially only available in small quantities on pre-order. Amazon Echo Auto is a small piece of hardware that Amazon Alexa is supposed to bring into the car. Not only the knowledge of the cloud connection, everything you can do at home or on the smartphone with the Alexa app will also work with Amazon Echo Auto.

Ultimately, it is just a small device for your vehicle that Alexa brings with you on the go and, despite its small housing, houses eight microphones. These are of course there to accept each of your commands and to be available to you with Alexa’s services. The Echo Auto is placed on your front shelf and offers the user, among other things, location-dependent routines. For example, you can have the home lighting switched on directly via Alexa if you drive up the driveway by car or just ask for the nearest Starbucks (or Tchibo) on the way so that Alexa tells you where it is and when the store opens the doors opens. Also feasible: command music services and use map services – the Internet connection of your smartphone is used.

As part of the CES in Las Vegas learn that Amazon is planning an “early” start in Germany. “Soon” is of course an elastic term, but one can assume that this will not last forever. Amazon Echo will cost around 50 euros and then offer you the same options described. In the end, of course, the question is whether you need or want something like this at all. But there should also be people who have pressed an Echo Dot into the cup holder of their vehicle.
