Amazon company reveals new autonomous and steering wheelless robotaxi – Telemundo New York (47)

Amazon’s company Zoox on Monday unveiled its new robotaxi that seeks to redefine public transportation by introducing a fully autonomous vehicle that does not have a steering wheel.

According to the company, this vehicle seats four people, can go up to 70 miles per hour and is multi-directional, which means that it can drive from either end without having to reverse or go “u” turns.

This robotaxi is fully electric and can operate continuously for up to 16 hours on a single charge and at the moment it is being tested mainly in the cities of Las Vegas and San Francisco, however they are also doing it in Foster City, California, where Zoox was born.

Zoox was purchased in 2020, but they have been developing the vehicle since its founding in 2014, and it now operates as a subsidiary of Amazon.

Zoox is designed to be a means of transport in an urban environment and has sensors, cameras, maps and radars to have a complete view of the environment and thus be able to avoid traffic, pedestrians and any object that may be found on the road, in addition to respect traffic lights.

At the moment, it has not been revealed when the Zoox vehicle will be available to the public.
