The high culture of the dwarfs has perished. All that’s left are wretched creatures trying to numb their anguish with mushroom ale. Completely out of touch with reality, the dwarves have only one culprit for the downfall of their empire, the humans! In their madness they construct killing machines and send them against their enemy. In an accident, the dwarf Fargil is cut off from the supply of mushroom beer. Forced to sober up, he recognizes the decline of his people and wants to help them to new heights. But even among the people there are those who do not want to accept being constantly threatened by the dwarves. Fargil gets caught between the fronts of the smoldering conflict. He does not know that there are efforts to escalate the tense situation. The signs point to war!
