The assets of the founder and head of the American online store Amazon Jeff Bezos increased by $ 13 billion (CZK 302 billion) on Monday alone. According to Bloomberg, this is a record daily increase in individual assets since 2012, when the agency began to lead and update its index of billionaires daily.
Shares of Amazon gained 7.9 percent on Monday, the most since December 2018. Their growth was mainly due to optimism about the development of Internet sales, which rose by 73 percent this year.
The 56-year-old Bezos, the richest man in the world, has risen by $ 74.4 billion to $ 189 billion this year, despite the United States entering the worst recession since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
Bezos’ assets exceed the market value of companies such as Exxon Mobil, Nike or McDonald’s. Its one-day increase is higher than the property of the richest Czech, Petr Kellner. It holds the 152nd place in the billionaire index and its assets according to this ranking amount to 11.2 billion dollars to date.
