Amazon confirmed that a number of services on its cloud unit (AWS) were disrupted yesterday, Tuesday, with customers, adding that it was working to end the failure.
Down Detector, which tracks outages of electronic services, said about 12,000 users reported problems accessing services.
The number of users affected by this malfunction may be greater than that.
The status page for the AWS unit showed a message saying, “We have identified the underlying cause as an issue with the AWS Lambda and are working closely to resolve it.”
AWS Lambda is a service that allows customers to run computer programs without having to manage any underlying servers.
This service is used by some companies such as T-Mobile US, Netflix and Autodesk.
None of the three companies have yet to respond to requests from Reuters for comment.
