Amazon asks employees to remove TikTok from smartphones. Then back off: “Mail sent by mistake”

Amazon said it mistakenly emailed employees on Friday telling them to delete the popular TikTok video app from their phones. Amazon had told employees to remove the popular TikTok video app from phones on which they use Amazon’s email, citing security risks from the Chinese-owned app.

“This morning’s email was sent to some of our employees by mistake. There are no changes to our policies at this time in regards to TikTok,” said Amazon.
