(CercleFinance.com) – Amazon on Monday announced its intention to recruit some 150,000 seasonal employees in the United States in preparation for the strategic Christmas period.
The Seattle group said in a statement that all jobs created will have an average hourly wage of at least $ 18, a signing bonus of up to $ 3,000 and additional compensation likely to go up to three dollars an hour, depending on positions and locations.
The e-commerce giant is also insisting on the possibility of turning these seasonal contracts into ‘long-term’ career opportunities.
Amazon specifies that most jobs will be created in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota , Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
The group claimed a salaried workforce of 950,000 people in the United States alone at the end of the second quarter.
