Amazing, supernatural and unforgettable… PM Modi shared pictures of Ayodhya Deepotsav, lakhs of lamps were lit at 51 ghats.

New Delhi. Describing the lighting of more than 22 lakh lamps during the Deepotsav in Ayodhya as supernatural and unforgettable, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the energy emanating from there is infusing new zeal and enthusiasm throughout India.

Under the seventh edition of Deepotsav, 25,000 volunteers on Saturday lit 22.23 lakh lamps at 51 ghats of Ram Ki Paidi on the banks of river Saryu, creating a record for lighting the maximum number of lamps simultaneously at any place. This number of lamps is 6.47 lakh more than last year.

The Prime Minister described the Deepotsav as ‘wonderful, supernatural and unforgettable’ and shared some pictures of the celebrations. Representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records counted the lamps with the help of drones and gave the world record status to the city, after which Ayodhya echoed with the chant of ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

The Prime Minister said in a post on social media platform ‘X’, “Wonderful, supernatural and unforgettable! The whole country is getting illuminated by the grand festival of lights of Ayodhya city illuminated with millions of lamps.” He said, “The energy emanating from this is spreading new zeal and enthusiasm throughout India. I wish that Lord Shri Ram does well for all the countrymen and becomes their inspiration. Hail Siya Ram!”

It is noteworthy that after the formation of BJP government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh in the year 2017, the festival of lights started in Ayodhya. In 2017, 1.71 lakh lamps were lit on Deepotsav. In the year 2022, 15 lakh 76 thousand lamps were lit on Ram Ki Paidi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given a certificate to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for inclusion of this record in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’.

Then Prime Minister Modi participated in the grand Deepotsav program at Ram Ki Pauri. Earlier, he had reached Ayodhya on August 5, 2020 to lay the foundation stone for the construction of a grand temple at Ram Janmabhoomi. Now on January 22 next year, PM Modi will attend the consecration ceremony of Ram temple.
