“Amazing House in Texas with Tree House Views: A Tour and Design Features”

Due to the steep slope of the plot, the architects of Keys Office of Architects did not have to think long about the layout. The children’s rooms, bathrooms, storeroom and laundry room, viewed from the garden, would be located downstairs and all the other rooms above, at street level.

With this plan, the living spaces catch much more light, while they would otherwise lie in the shade of the trees. In addition, they now overlook the evergreen crowns and the residents have the feeling that they live in a tree house. “It reminds of the blissful childhood when they carpentered like that.” The trees do not reach that high on part of the house and there the view of the wooded hills is spectacular.

In the interior, the link with nature is never far away. Wood, such as walnut, natural tones, such as the green bathroom tiles, and marble floors and pale limestone were chosen for the finish and furniture. The latter is repeated in the facade, where it is combined with black colored metal panels that deliberately create contrast. To escape the heat of Texas, there is of course a swimming pool, but there are also cantilevers in various places and terraces have been laid out underneath. Thanks to the sunken window profiles, they form an extension of the interior.
