A chain message of the discovery of a new variant corona virus or COVID-19 in the District Holy, Central Java made a scene. The new variant of COVID-19 is said to have originated in India. What are the facts like?
The message stated that a number of samples of positive COVID-19 patients that had been tested showed that there was a new variant originating from India or called delta.
“For friends in Kudus, be more careful, 28 out of 34 examined at the UGM Faculty of Medicine proved to be a new variant from India (delta),” that’s how the chain message sounds like it’s seen detikcom, Saturday (12/6/2021).
Asked for confirmation, the Acting Head of the Kudus District Health Office, Mas’ut, said that there was no official information regarding the results of the samples tested to track the cause of the spike in Kudus. His party is still waiting for the results of the sample test of positive COVID-19 patients from Kudus from the Ministry of Health.
“There is no official news yet,” answered Mas’ut briefly when asked about the chain message.
As previously reported, the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has taken 75 samples of positive patients Corona in Kudus. This sampling is to be investigated whether there are findings of a new variant of Corona in Kudus.
“We have taken the whole genome sequencing examination, we are waiting for it. We will take 75 samples,” said the Acting Director of Health Surveillance and Quarantine, Directorate General of P2P, Ministry of Health, dr. Prima Yosephine told reporters he was met at Pendapa Kudus Regency, Friday (4/6).
“To determine whether there is a new variant. We will make sure positive people are there whether there is a new variant or not. So we take some,” continued Prima.
Prima explained that it is estimated that the results will be known in two weeks. It is said that so far there has been no finding of a new variant of Corona virus.
“It’s been possible for 2 weeks to be known. Something happened in the past, about 2 weeks it was only known. So far not (there is no new variant of COVID-19),” he explained.
