Amari Cooper will miss the game against Kansas City

FRISCO, Texas – Amari Cooper was one of the only players on the Cowboys roster to play an away game against the Chiefs.

And now, he’s out for Sunday’s showdown, and possibly a game or two more after that.

The Cowboys have placed Cooper on the Reserve / COVID-19 list, automatically ruling him out for Sunday’s game in Kansas City. And because the Cowboys have a short week and face their former team on Thanksgiving, Cooper could probably miss the game against the Raiders, too.

Depending on his vaccination status, Cooper’s chances of playing Dec. 2 in New Orleans could also be up in the air.

But for Sunday against a high-powered Chiefs team, that’s a huge loss for the Cowboys, who have the number one offense in the league. They had just had Michael Gallup back in the mix last week and were trying to get all their weapons ready for the game against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs.

This week, Cooper, who spent his first three NFL seasons with the Raiders, said he spoke with his teammates about the noise level at Arrowhead Stadium and how to overcome that important factor.

Without Cooper, the Cowboys still have CeeDee Lamb, Gallup and Cedrick Wilson as the top three receivers. Noah Brown is part of the rotation and Malik Turner caught two touchdowns two weeks ago against Denver.
