Mohamed Emara, the former left-back for Al-Ahly and the Egyptian national team, confirmed that the red team missed a golden opportunity against Bayern Munich, when it lost two goals without a response, yesterday evening in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup.
Amara said in statements to Ontime Sports: “The result could have been positive for Al-Ahly against Bayern Munich, especially since the German team was exhausted from the trip to Qatar, and was not in its condition and won because Al-Ahly was weak yesterday.”
He added: “We had a golden opportunity against Bayern Munich to win it, and I did not see the real Bayern Munich, which we always watch, and its stars did not give everything they had in front of Al-Ahly.”
He continued: “I am not with those who say that the result is satisfactory. Al-Ahly team was weak offensively. We could have won the match if we had a good attack, but we did not play with a frank spearhead.”
He continued: “I was astonished at Muhammad Sharif sitting on the bench, and any frank spearhead would have made the difference for Al-Ahly. Al-Ahly players missed confidence and we kept the ball in some periods, but without effectiveness.”
Amara completed his remarks: “Pitso Mosimane is weak in managing matches, so far he has not left an imprint with me, regardless of the tournaments that have been achieved, so far his imprint is not strong. I think Al-Ahly fans agree with me on this matter.”
