Amanda Bynes finishes her podcast to train as a manicurist.
The 37-year-old star — who rose to fame on the Nickelodeon shows “All That” and “The Amanda Show” — launched “Amanda Bynes and Paul Sieminski: The Podcast” on Dec. 9, before pulling the plug this weekend because There were no guests like “Drake or Post Malone”.
However, a day later, Monday (12/18/23), she reversed course on her decision.
She has since announced that she was going to focus on manicures rather than podcasting.
Amanda wrote on her Instagram story: “The 1st episode of my podcast went very well. I was actually surprised and of course I was going to continue after friends encouraged me to do it.
“After thinking about it, I would rather get my nail license and have a steady job.
“I’m going to go that route instead. Thank you for following my journey!
Earlier this week, she wrote: “So I wanted to post something about how I felt last night after I posted that we were pausing the podcast.
“I felt really sad and I was in a really bad mood because the podcast was something I was really looking forward to filming next week.”
Amanda added that the project was something she was “really excited and happy about”.
She confirmed: “So I spoke to a few friends and they all told me to keep going so we’re going to keep the podcast going.”
The “She’s The Man” actress noted that she made too hasty a decision and that her comments weren’t fair to the guests she had already invited.
She said: “I think podcasts just take time to grow, to build an audience, so I shouldn’t have said what I said last night about not having the type of guests which we’ve been looking forward to because you never know, we might have them in the future and the guests we have lined up are actually really awesome.
“I’m really looking forward to shooting the next episode, and that’s it.”
Hours before announcing the short-term hiatus, Amanda told TMZ she wouldn’t talk about her acting career or her troubled personal life, including being in health treatment centers mentally, on the podcast.
Instead, the “Easy A” actress and Paul wanted the focus to be on their guests, because they find their stories more interesting.
No one knows if the podcast will return.
