The situation in the Amalie Sieveking Hospital in the Hamburg district of Volksdorf remains dramatic. Due to numerous corona cases, the hospital will not admit any new patients until the end of the month. This was announced by the operator, the Immanuel-Albertinen-Diakonie, NDR 90.3.
It started a month ago, and the virus has now been detected in a total of 66 patients. Eleven of them have died, most of them were very old and sick, according to the hospital. But the virus has also spread among employees. More than 60 were infected or had to be quarantined in the past month. In its written statement, the operator indirectly admits that both patients and employees were at least partially infected in the hospital.

Several stations blocked
The consequence of the outbreak: five stations had to be closed so far. The Amalie Sieveking Hospital will not accept any new patients up to and including December 28th. This also applies to the emergency room, which has been closed since the beginning of the month. Ambulances therefore have to drive to other hospitals. According to experts, there has been so many corona cases in no other Hamburg hospital in such a short time.
