Amalie Olufsen can become Playmate of the Year

Dagbladet recently reported that Norwegian Amalie Olufsen (25) is one of 12 women competing for the prestigious Playboy title “Playmate of the Year”. The 25-year-old from Mo i Rana has graced the cover of the world-famous magazine on several occasions.

The exuberant model has been seen on newsstand shelves worldwide, and 2020 and 2021 were particularly good years for her. Then she was on the cover of Playboy Africa, Playboy Australia, Playboy Mexico and Playboy Nederland.

Now she can tell Dagbladet that she hopes to fulfill her dream of following in Lillian Müller’s (71) footsteps by becoming the first Norwegian woman since the 70s who can adorn herself with the title “Playmate of the Year”.

Olufsen explains that German Playboy is the most recognized edition apart from the American one. Now she is “Miss March”, and will therefore be center page girl next month. She says the following about the given assignment, and the opportunity to become “Playmate of the Year”:

– I think it’s really big, and I’m not least satisfied with the pictures. They are badass.

– Playboy has a reputation for having a lot of nudity. How explicit will it be?

– There are two types of nudity, I feel. Some are tacky and some are artistic. I think this is tasty. Everything is carefully planned, they are careful about what should represent what Playboy is, she says and acknowledges that you get to see her whole body.

– You see everything. You actually do that. But you don’t lie down and make it tasteless. One promotes the female body!

A dream

The 25-year-old does not hide that she has dreamed of this moment for a long time. She believes that this is the best she could achieve within Playboy.

– In general, to be qualified is surreal. I didn’t imagine that would happen to me when I made my first covers. I am so proud of myself. If I win it, it will be a dream come true, she says playfully.

The competition is tough, according to Olufsen. It is almost set up as a miss competition where the qualified have to speak their case.

– I have to tell why I think I am fit to win, she says.

– What are you going to say?

– I want to emphasize the fact that I am from northern Norway, from a small town. That I have started from scratch completely alone and have no agency. I am completely alone in that, and have always stood behind my own photo shoots, except for what has been done with Playboy. I don’t know, I have to practice this properly, she admits with a laugh and adds:

– Think how cool it would be for Norway, to be able to say that a Norwegian has won.

– Surely that hasn’t happened since Lillian Müller?

– No, that’s exactly it. Imagine being in line with that legend! She is a role model for me, she is completely raw.

Gets a lot of support

As a Playboy model also comes a lot of attention. There are more people who want a piece of Amalie, which is reflected in her Instagram inbox.

– I get a lot of strange things. Once a guy said he was going to kill himself if I didn’t keep posting pictures. Lots of stalker vibes. Many wonder if we can stay together, what it takes to see me, that they have seen me out. It’s sick – but people from the inbox are tougher online than in reality, she says and emphasizes that she thinks it’s funny when people want to take selfies with her on the street.

The model can also tell about rude and ugly words in the comment field on Facebook. It is something she does not get hung up on.

– Fortunately, I am not affected. I’m lucky that way. At first I was very upset, it was absolutely terrible. But now I have understood that it is more or less about jealousy.

She does not hide that there are also many nice comments. The 25-year-old refers to her followers as “kind” and says that she is grateful for that. The family are also important supporters.

– The family are only positive, they are super proud, she concludes.
