The case with the dead babies in Amaliada develops into a never-ending thriller, with Irini Mourtzoukou as the protagonist.
New revelations are coming to light, while the developments in the case of the death of Panagiotakis, the 15-month-old child of her friend Irini Mourtzoukou, who died last August in Amaliada, are rapid.
The Deputy Prosecutor of the First District Court of Ilia requested a preliminary examination, in order to investigate whether the crime of manslaughter with any kind of malice of the little Panagiotis, who passed away at the age of 15 months, arises.
“Panagiotakis’ toxicologists will speak”
Tasos Dougas, lawyer for the family of little Panagiotis, spoke on the show about the latest developments.
“A new cycle of depositions has opened and all witnesses must testify to the authorities. In addition, we await the results of the blogs. Panagiotakis’ grandmother testified yesterday. The death of Panagiotis will reveal what happened to the other deaths as well. I do not want to comment because Irini has not yet been called to testify. At some point I believe he will be called. The child’s mother will also testify next week. I would not like to say anything publicly about whether or not my principal has received threats.”
The medical examiner, Grigoris Leon, reported:
“It is a very important find (blood & foam). The external factor cannot be ruled out but every day it is confirmed. The girl in front is specific when she talks about what happened, she has said about bruising and lack of oxygen. Foam is consistent with this process.”

As Vassilis Lambropoulos said speaking to Mega, there is no documented evidence from the medical examiner’s point of view that the deaths of the infants are due to criminal action.
The histological and toxicological tests of little Panagiotakis, the child who died in August 2024, are expected to shed light on whether it was a criminal act or not.
Vassilis Lambropoulos clarified that if nothing is found, then despite the testimonies that have seen the light of day, the case will probably be closed.

The mother of the unfortunate Panagiotis showed the broadcast camera the place where she was when she found him.
She pointed to his crib, which still has his things in it and the distance he traveled to reach her baby.
“How suddenly my child left me? I can’t think of anything because the child was healthy. I did aman and how to have my son and now I lost him”, she says upset.
Regarding the photos of the dead Panagiotis, he says that he learned from the show that Irini had something like that in her possession.
“I have photos of my child who is alive. When I saw them I was shocked. I told her what business does my child have dead on your cell phone. She replied that she didn’t and I demanded that she delete it. But I can’t know why he also uploaded it to Facebook. And then I saw the pictures she has of the other dead babies and I was speechless. What I care about is that Justice comes.”
As Popi herself said, she is not in a good psychological state. Her mother’s partner was trying to interrupt the conversation with the broadcast reporter and get Popi to leave.
“I was scared by the audio document you made with Irene and another girl. I was shaking I said what is this my Lady? And I even asked her and she told me that it was three years ago. We also had fights but not as intense. Whether she was jealous of me or not would be a good thing to ask her and not me,” he concludes.

Speaking to “Tunel”, Irene’s mother blamed her for the death of her daughter and her two grandchildren.
In an interview with “Tunel”, the mother of Irini, who lost her thirteen-month-old girl under strange circumstances, spoke openly about everything, dispelling the fog.
“I have accused Irene, unless I don’t want to believe it, because no mother wants to believe something like that about her child. I hope that all this does not turn out to be true, neither for my child, nor for hers, nor for the rest. I was one of the first, along with some other relatives of mine, who had asked her directly if she herself had harmed her little brother, and I hope that this scenario is not confirmed. The black truth is, however, that Irini seems to be involved in this,” he said characteristically.
He described what happened that day and under what circumstances the fatal incident occurred.
“I had put the child to sleep and he never woke up. Irini came, she told us that she made some noise. I went to see him, but the child was already black, half-frozen, unconscious. I realized he was gone and tried to give him the kiss of life. At that time we didn’t say anything, we went straight to the hospital. I can’t blame the doctors, because they tried for over an hour, but they couldn’t bring him back to life,” added Mrs. Popi.
He pointed out that at that moment Irini was alone with her little brother.
“I thought that she might have caused it to him and we had already told her about it. He had done some jealous scenes. In other words, he was jealous of the other children who were born.”
Irene’s mother confirmed the testimony heard in the “Tunnel” a week earlier, about the pillow she put on her sister’s face.
“She had done this scene that was heard with the pillow on her sister’s face. She covered her mouth and nose with her hand. Her dad never admitted it and said, “the child is playing”. We have been saying for a long time that she should not be left alone with children. There was a general fear because of her behavior.”
Mrs. Popi also wanted to clarify the incident with her other child, who she lost in an early pregnancy.
“That baby was an unfortunate pregnancy, nothing to do with it,” he stressed.
What causes a sensation is the then opinion of the child psychologists about Irini.
“Irini was then reassured by the experts that this is a split personality, that is, that she also has a second self.”

Nikoloulis, when the little girl “passed away” from life, the mother took the baby’s sheets, without seeing what was in them, and threw them to the baby’s godmother – who, as the godmother said, was “baptized in the air” – and said to her: “take , to remember it”.
This woman never washed these clothes and sheets, and as soon as she opened them, she found inside the dress of the night she died.
