Vice Chairman PSSI Zainudin Amali revealed the results of the first meeting of the PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir with coach Indonesian National team Shin Tae Yong.
Erick Thohir and Shin Tae Yong had their first official meeting on Monday (21/2) to discuss various topics regarding the Indonesian National Team.
Amali said that the continuation of the plan to build a training center or training camp was the focus of discussion on the agenda.
“Many things were conveyed including the acceleration of the training camp,” said Amali, Tuesday (2/22).
He said that Indonesian President Joko Widodo would be accompanied by Erick Thohir to visit the planned training camp location at IKN on Wednesday (22/2).
This was done as a form of Erick’s seriousness in realizing his promise after being elected to the highest chair of the national football body.
“Tomorrow [hari ini] Mr. President and Mr. Ketum are going to IKN and it will be accelerated [pembangunan] That. The President has said that one or a maximum of 1.5 years has been completed [training camp di IKN],” said Amali.
Apart from discussing the location of the training camp, Amali said Erick and STY discussed preparations for the 2023 U-20 World Cup. However, Amali did not elaborate on the contents of Erick and STY’s chat about the worldwide junior soccer party.
On the one hand, Amali denied that there was dialogue about the fate of STY in the Indonesian National Team. The South Korean coach’s contract lasts until December 2023.
“There isn’t any [pembicaraan kontrak]we focus on talking about the World Cup [U-20],” said Zainudin Amali.
