‘Amal’, the first Mars probe in the Arab world, enters Mars orbit… 5th in the world

-Local media reported that Amal, the first Mars probe launched by the United Arab Emirates, successfully entered Mars orbit.

The Muhammad bin Rashid Space Center, which oversees the UAE’s space program, declared that it had “successfully entered Mars” on the 9th local time after catching a signal from Amal.

Amal started the speed reduction engine at 7:30 pm on the 9th and successfully entered orbit, lowering the speed to 18,000 km/h.

After successfully entering orbit, Amal orbits Mars once every 55 hours, performing tasks such as measuring the atmosphere in the upper and lower layers, observing the surface of Mars, and filming.

The launch of the Mars probe was the first in the United Arab Emirates in the Arab world, and the seventh in the world after the United States, the European Union, Russia, China, India and Japan.

It was the fifth time that it successfully entered Mars orbit after the United States, the Soviet Union, the European Space Agency and India.

One day after Amal successfully entered orbit, China’s Mars probe Tianyuan-1 also attempts to orbit Mars.
