The resumption of the case opposing the special prosecutor of the CRIEF to the former president of the National Assembly Amadou Damaro Camara must take place this Thursday, November 30, 2023 before the CRIEF court.

In detention since April 27, 2022, Amadou Damaro Camara and his co-defendants are being prosecuted by the special prosecutor of the CRIEF for acts of embezzlement of public funds, illicit enrichment, money laundering, corruption in the public and private sector, illegal taking of interests and complicity.

These accusations relate to an amount of 15 billion intended for the construction of a new seat of the National Assembly. Amadou Damaro Camara, who pleaded not guilty, benefited from provisional release from his first appearance before the trial chamber. The decision was immediately attacked by special prosecutor Aly Touré before the Appeals Chamber.

Amadou Damaro Camara, who is the main accused in this case, is still bedridden in the Sino-Guinean hospital under surveillance by prison guards.

We will come back to this.
