JAKARTA, Suaramerdeka.com – Data from the World Alzheimer’s Report 2016 shows that there are around 1.2 million people with dementia in Indonesia. This number is predicted to increase to 4 million people by 2050.

Research Coordinator of the Indonesian Alzheimer’s Foundation, dr. Tara Puspitarini Sari explained that dementia is a decrease in brain function that affects memory, emotions, ways of thinking and other brain functions. Thus, it interferes with a person’s ability to carry out daily activities.

“All of these symptom common in dementia alzheimer or other types of dementia. But what we see most often in Alzheimer’s dementia.”
