Alzheimer Café Weert: miMakker Jeroen Poels Shares Insight into Heart-to-Heart Contact with Dementia Patients

The last meeting of this season of the Alzheimer Café Weert will be held on Monday 19 June. The organization takes a holiday in July and August, to start a new season full of enthusiasm in September. Then the Alzheimer Café Weert will be 20 years old, so that will be an evening with a festive touch.

But June 19 also promises to be a special evening. miMakker Jeroen Poels “Ties” takes you along in his work as miMakker. The miMakker works on the basis of a certain methodology, which can also be used by informal carers, family members, volunteers and healthcare professionals to make heart-to-heart contact with people with dementia. Because precisely when language is no longer self-evident, making sincere contact is essential in daily care. This demonstrably contributes to well-being and quality of life.

Practical information

Everyone is welcome in the Alzheimer Café. Both people with dementia and their partners, informal carers, relatives or caregivers and people who feel connected to the subject – young and old.

Pre-registration is not necessary. The first cup of coffee or tea is offered free of charge, any subsequent consumption is for your own account.

The Alzheimer Café will be held in the Bibliocenter at Wilhelminasingel 250 in Weert. The program lasts from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm; walk-in is possible from 19:00.
