A good 16 years after the release of the last game from the “Half Life” series, manufacturer Valve takes a big technical leap: “Half Life: Alyx” is an adventure exclusively for VR players.
When “Half Life” was released in 1998, it redefined the genre rules. Story, action and game mechanics were groundbreaking. 2020 later developer Valve takes the next step – and brings “Half Life: Alyx“exclusively for virtual reality glasses. Once again everything is different.
The plot of “Half Life: Alyx“is between the events of the games Half-life (1998) and Half-life 2 (2004). The eponymous heroine Alyx Vance and her father Eli lead the resistance against the brutal occupation of the earth by the alien Combine.

Alyx and her father were forcibly relocated to town 17. Since then, the two have been secretly tinkering with weapons and tools with which the people of the Combine should put an end to the occupation.
“Half-life: Alyx“can only be played with VR glasses – and is a pure single player adventure. Controlling players Alyx Vancewho can speak in contrast to the silent game heroes of the past “Half Life” parts. Players have to interact with the environment, explore the virtual world, prove themselves in battles and solve tricky puzzles.
