The Alytus Music School held the “Singing Song for Lithuania” competition for children from nursery-kindergartens, general education schools and non-formal education institutions of the city and district of Alytus. 26 children from the age of 4 took part in the competition.
“I am glad that many competitions are held at the Alytus Music School. And with this competition, we aim to get children on the musical path. Timid first steps on stage, and small songs turn into big chords. Every child is welcome. Here he can sing, perform. It’s like a small springboard into the world of music,” says Gabrielė Dambauskaitė, director of the Alytus School of Music.
Six-year-old Viltė is one of the contestants. She performed the song “Lietuva”. The girl is brave, she would like to play the violin in the future. “I have been singing since childhood. I grew up singing,” says 12-year-old Bella Liucija Kracewicz. She prepared the partisan song “Maybe tired?” for the competition. Bella says that to sing partisan songs you need to empathize, feel the emotion, and feel the song itself. “I learn many songs and listen to them a lot. My parents and relatives support me a lot in my musical journey. Especially my mother and friends”, the girl is happy. She performs in her Dzūkija school and in various competitions. According to Bella, other sciences do not suffer because of music. “I like both dancing and singing. Therefore, when I grow up, I would like to be an actress”, says the girl boldly. Theater group lessons, dance and singing classes inspire Bella with self-confidence, so she feels great on stage.
We wish success to the young performers, and to the Alytus Music School to help the young singers grow and improve.
