The name of the beautiful artist Alyssa Soebandono is certainly no longer foreign to your ears, Mother. Several years ago, Alyssa’s name was also in the spotlight because her older sister decided to change religion.
Even though she has emigrated and deepened her knowledge of religion, who would have thought that Alyssa Soebandono came from a family with a diverse religious background. It was revealed that Alyssa’s eldest sibling, Ananda Soebandono, adheres to a different religion from her parents and younger siblings.
As we know, Alyssa Soebandono was born to Muslim parents. In fact, Alyssa has now decided to wear the hijab.
Meanwhile, his older brother decided to embrace Christianity in 2016. Ananda Soebandono admitted that he chose to change religion after going through various things in his life.
Ananda Soebandono received rejection from his family
The decision to change religion is certainly not an easy thing to do. Ananda also felt this when he said he wanted to convert to Christianity.
Not only from his family, Ananda said he had received rejection from his parents and younger siblings, Alyssa and Annissa Soebandono.
“Of course, with what I experienced, I also told my family, there was rejection of course. My mother still didn’t think I would take this decision,” said Ananda Soebandono, quoted from YouTube Diaspora TV.
At that time, Ananda even felt that his younger siblings did not consider him a brother. Alyssa even sent Ananda a short message.
“It’s really like you’re not considered a brother. ‘Do you not love Daddy? Don’t you love your family? Don’t you know what sin you’ve committed?’,” said Ananda Soebandono.
After a dispute with his family, Ananda Soebandono chose to leave home, Bunda. He is looking for a place to live and live alone.
“It really soured the relationship between me and my family,” said Ananda.
Even so, the conflict between Ananda and his family did not last long. This started when Ananda wanted to be baptized in Semarang.
“This priest really thought about it. Until finally the priest said, ‘I want to baptize you. But, try talking, ask your parents for their blessing’. And that made me nervous, wow, how about that,” he said.
