She sang with patrick Watson, there was angèle who arrived,Maro, all artists that I admire. Me, at the Olympia, I sang with my brothers. These are truly unforgettable moments,” Schneider recalls.
The Song That Changed Everything
At the heart of Schneider’s rise to fame is his hit song Ensemble, a ballad that resonated deeply with audiences. The track, which explores the challenges of long-distance relationships, was born during a pivotal moment in his life. “it’s a song about long-distance relationships, something I was clearly experiencing at the time,” he explains.
The song’s creation was a collaborative effort with his producer, Marc-André Gilbert, who pushed Schneider to delve into his personal experiences. “Marc-André pushed me to go directly into what I was experiencing.Usually, I like to stay vague enough so that it’s not a diary, but here I decided to go deep into my private life,” Schneider reveals.
Despite initial doubts about its commercial potential, Ensemble became a radio sensation and even featured in an SNCF advertising campaign. “Very good visibility,” Schneider acknowledges.
The Power of French Lyrics
Schneider’s decision to switch from English to French lyrics on his third album proved to be a game-changer. “The change was immediate,” he says. previously influenced by American folk, he struggled to adapt his style to French. “I found it difficult to render it in French. It was more work, I had to relearn all the writing codes, but once I succeeded, I felt like I had something unique in my hands,” he reflects.
this shift not only set him apart but also solidified his place in the French music scene.
