Alwi Farhan is one of the Indonesian representatives who managed to reach the last 16 of the 2023 Guwahati Masters competition.
In the round of 16 which took place on Thursday (7/12/2023), Alwi Farhan was blocked by the host’s representative, Abhisek Saini.
Facing Saini, Alwi managed to win in two straight games.
Indonesia’s potential men’s singles player defeated Saini with a score of 21-15, 21-14 in a 35-minute battle.
This victory also made Alwi qualify for the quarter-finals and ensured that Indonesia had 3 representatives in the men’s singles sector who were still standing.
Apart from Alwi, two other Indonesian representatives, namely Alvi Wijaya Chairullah and Yohanes Saut Marcellyno, had already qualified for the quarter-finals.
Yohanes managed to escape first by overthrowing the host’s representative, Ayush Shetty in a fierce battle of three games.
The badminton player from Indonesia beat Shetty with a score of 19-21, 21-16, 23-21.
In line with Yohanes, Alvi Wijaya Chairullah also managed to qualify for the quarter-finals through a fierce battle of three games.
