Canal Red journalist Raúl Solís has been the target of threats of physical violence after the dissemination of a hoax on Telegram, promoted by Alvise Pérez and his collaborator Vito Quiles. The false information, published on two Telegram channels with more than 700,000 followers, consisted of a fabricated screenshot showing Solís having a conversation with a 16-year-old teenager, insinuating pedophilia.
Following the publication of the hoax, numerous followers of these channels have responded with direct threats towards the journalist. Among the threats of physical violence and death, issued through Telegram, there are expressions such as “we should cut off his dick with a blunt knife”, “if he is my son, the coroner is already at his house”, “we should cut off his balls and make him eat them”, “we should lynch him”, “gasoline can, lighter and see how the faggot squirms”, “don’t go out on the street with your face uncovered because you will lose it” or “hanged in the Plaza de España”.
Although Alvise has subsequently edited the message to remove the explicit accusation of paedophilia – possibly to try to protect himself from the accusation of slander – and although Quiles has deleted the corresponding publication of the hoax on X, the numerous threats as well as the original messages have been captured and certified by numerous users with the intention of using them as evidence in future legal actions.
