Álvaro Morales and the pandemic: Now he shows off his pizza business after two months without knowing what to do

During this pandemic, many have had to reinvent themselves in the workplace after the end, arrest or closure of their jobs and ventures. A reality that has transversally impacted many professionals, including, incidentally, those who work in the world of television and entertainment.

The actor Álvaro Morales knows about that. After retiring a year and a half ago from the small screen, in December 2018, together with the Italian pizzaiolo, Andrea Ramallo, he founded “Don Giovanni”, a culinary business that ventured into events for weddings, birthdays and parties, and later in workshops for learn how to make pizzas. Unfortunately, the social outbreak lowered their activities and then the pandemic ended up finishing them.

“In January and February it went very well for us, until March came with the coronavirus and we had to close everything. I spent two two months standing still, not knowing what to do, ”the interpreter told LUN.

Then it occurred to him to take advantage of what he had learned to do exceptionally: pizzas. “I am not a chef, I am an enthusiastic cook, I have taken many courses and I love what I do.”

With that same spirit and by the hand of his friend Jaime Aravena, owner of the local “Papás Ricas”, in Ñuñoa, and who offered him his facilities to sell his recipes, Morales smiled at life again.

“I am happy because I am working. At first, people’s behavior was a bit erratic as a result of the businesses they had to close and as a result of the pandemic itself. For Father’s Day it was good, but not as good as I imagined, and the weekend before was better. But I’m excited about the idea of doing something, “the actor commented to the morning.

Fortunately, he says that economically he is fine, better than many people who are in debt today, and that in the future he would like to live outside of Santiago. “I can take financial risks, I have reduced my expenses. I live with more austerity and I like it ”.
