Next Tuesday, June 13, an altruistic day of blood will be held at the Hospitalito de Zapopan, on the occasion of World Donor Day. To give an example, 147 municipal public servants registered as candidates, most of them hospital employees.
“The State Center for Blood Transfusion turned to see us because we are the hospital where the population that comes to donate altruistically is its own health personnel. The advantage is that I don’t say it, the State Center told us, that’s why we are so happy”, said the municipal head of Social Health Work, Elvira Rodríguez Torres.
Last year 120 people signed up and 53 of them were eligible, so it is expected to exceed donations in the current period.
The initiative of municipal officials adds six years setting the example. The State Center for Blood Transfusion receives altruistic donations throughout the year, from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
You only need to mention that you want to make an altruistic blood donation and meet the following requirements: present official identification, be over 18 years of age and under 65 years of age, weigh more than 50 kilograms, fast for more than four hours and less than 12 hours , drink enough water and avoid eating greasy or dairy foods prior to donating.
