Until the April record, the Altos Norte region presents the highest coverage of vaccines applied at the state level with more than 90% of biologicals applied to the child population: “The Altos region has always been excellent in cooperating with the application of schemes and concerned , concerned about caring for girls and boys, especially the schemes that we know are from the universal vaccination program, most are in childhood, in fact, all biologicals are above 90% of the goal, some are already in 100, and we know that with coverage, even more than 80, the populations are protected from outbreaks of diseases preventable by vaccination”, affirms María Elena Pajarito, Coordinator of Social Determinants of the Ministry of Health.

Coverage that reaches up to 100% in some biologicals of the basic scheme, assures the coordinator: “Vaccines such as triple viral, which is measles, rubella, mumps, or diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, are practically in more than 95%. Those are at 100%, so practically, we don’t have significant risks and we know that it is necessary, especially also when people from other places come to visit, there are pilgrimages, because we have this whole situation in which the site is visited or other people could have some contagion, because the population at this time especially the smallest who are also the most vulnerable to complications, because they are protected “

In addition, it currently rules out some shortages of biologicals such as the one that occurred in 2022, which has also led to ruling out possible risks through vaccination campaigns: “We really only had a few vaccines, in the sense, for example, in At some point, tetanus, tetanus vaccines were lacking, they had not been sent to us by the federal level, but it is now fully solved, at this moment all the universal vaccination vaccines are available in the health units. Even the last one in the campaign, which we have had, that is, not permanent vaccination, but the campaign, which was vaccination against influenza, because it was excellent, the necessary vaccine for municipalities in the highlands was finished and, well, there was a very good response ” .

Given this favorable panorama of coverage in the region, María Elena Pajarito urges the population to continue with vaccination schemes through the different health institutions located in the seven municipalities of the Altos Norte region.
