Bisnis.com, JAKARTA – The assets of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. It is projected to be thicker along with the plan to consolidate with PT Pegadaian (Persero) and PT Penanaman Modal Madani (Persero) into the state-owned bank conglomerate.
Currently, BRI’s assets were recorded at Rp1,447.85 trillion as of the end of September 2020. This value is up 10.9 percent on an annual basis from Rp1,305.67 trillion.
Meanwhile, Pegadaian has assets worth IDR 70.3 trillion as of August 2020 and PNM worth IDR 24.82 trillion at the end of September 2020.
The entry of Pegadaian and PNM into the BRI conglomerate will greatly assist the development of MSMEs. It’s just that, the assets of Bank BRI will still not be able to match PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. which will be the abundance of bank assets resulting from the Islamic merger.
As a comparison, per quarter III / 2020, Bank Mandiri recorded consolidated assets worth IDR1,406.66 trillion.
In the planned merger of 3 Islamic banks, namely BRI Syariah, BNI Syariah, and Bank Syariah Mandiri, Bank Mandiri will later become the controlling shareholder. The merged syariah bank will become a subsidiary of Bank Mandiri and add to its consolidated assets.
