Hastel allowed Behrens to train with the team in Austria until the transfer to Persija was completed.
The coach of German Bundesliga 2 club Hansa Rostock, Jens Hartel, understands Hanno Behrens’ desire to continue his football career at Persija Jakarta, even though he was disappointed.
Behrens’ desire for a career in Asia surprised Rostock, considering that he was still in contact until 30 June 2023. Moreover, Behrens is one of the most productive midfielders in the team.

Even Behrens became the second highest goalscorer at Rostock in the 2021/22 season with five goals against the opponent, and six assists. While the club’s top scorer is John Verhoek with a score of 17 goals. This is what makes Hartel admit that he was disappointed with Behrens’ decision.
“Hanno came to us hoping he could make something different [pergi ke Persija]. “At his age, he wants to go abroad and get the opportunity to sign a three-year contract,” Hartel said.
“We were not happy, and I conveyed that to him. On the other hand, I can understand [keinginan] he is. ”
Despite wanting a career at Persija, Hastel allowed Behrens to attend a training camp (TC) in Schladming, Austria, which was attended by 27 players. The 32-year-old looks comfortable devouring training material. Apart from the Rostock players, Frederic Ananou was also seen.
“Hanno was well received, and she was able to follow the training to the end [progam TC]. I have no problem,” said Hastel.
Until now, Rostock’s management is still discussing the possibility of them releasing Behrens. The transfer value is high enough to make it difficult for Persija to get Behrens.
Meanwhile, Persija made a bid of €200 thousand, or around Rp. 3.1 billion. However, management is also considering other options, namely the humanitarian factor, so they are willing to accept Persija’s offer. This human factor is related to Behrens’ age.
