Alternative to “jumper cap” to reset cmos (Asrock B650i Lightning) after xmp1 failure

Hello

Just built my nr200 with the above mini-itx mobo and a 7800x3d and Ripjaw’s S5 ddr5 “Intel XMP ready” 6000Mhz CL30.
First boot – enter BIOS (1.28 i.e. first ), I saw that the memory was detected ok, then -> load available XMP profile 1 which seemed to be the above ie 6000Mhz CL30. Save and reboot: fans on near max, no video signal.

I’ve never seen detected and correct-seeming XMP profile fail before.

Someday will be the first.. this motherboard also has a Bios Flashback function which is apparently supposed to make bios update possible via usb memory when the machine is not running. I could try to update to the latest but it seems a bit awkward if the machine can’t even post? : /

It also has a pair of clear-cmos jumpers (two pins) which, after the machine is turned off and unplugged, should be short-circuited with a “jumper cap” (a plastic thing that conducts current between the pins it looks like). I probably don’t have one (never bought one because I’ve never needed one) so I’m wondering if I should try to buy one or if it’s possible to short circuit with a screwdriver touching both pins for three seconds (the manual says three seconds) or something else?
