On the occasion of the presentation by professor Tomaso Romano of Piero Montana’s book “From Inexpressionism to Bionic Art – Notes on an atheological vision of contemporary art”, in the premises of the “Piero Montana” Art and Culture Center, sites in via Bernardo Mattarella n 64 in Bagheria (PA), the exhibition will also be presented “Ad hoc-Alternative framework for the reification of the contemporary”.
The exhibiting artists are as follows: Nuccio Squillaci-Lillo Giuliana- Mario Liga, Giovanni Castiglia, Cinzia Farina, Marco Danese, Chicco Carrega, Filly CusenzaThe author of the book, who is also a gallery owner and an art critic, intends with this exhibition to offer an alternative to “artistic” operations within the bleak general picture proposed by the latest trends in contemporary art: the Inexpressionism and Post-Human Art, from which the current bionic and post-anthropocene art derives.
Artistic tendencies that have been the subject of very negative criticism in the aforementioned essay. Against the death sentence of art brought about by its current reification, i.e. by its reduction to an anonymous and serial object and also to a technological object, deriving from the development of a technical-technical thought scientific, which today reaches its extreme and disastrous consequences by invading even the space of art, Montana with this latest book but also with this exhibition set up “ad hoc” instead proposes his possible and real vital alternative. The works in fact, this exhibition materially has roots not in cold and inanimate things but in the earth, the only and true source of life.
A life that takes shape and develops in the woman’s womb and is nourished by her breasts. A life destined to sail in the open sea, now calm, now restless, of existence. A life therefore existentially illuminated by glimpses of light in the profound darkness that envelops it but above all illuminated by the inaugural and uncontaminated word, which rests in the womb of Being.
