The municipality of Altena was without water for several hours on Monday afternoon due to a malfunction. Tens of thousands of households were affected, Brabant Water announced on Monday afternoon.
The problem lay with Brabant Water’s water production company in Genderen. There was a power outage for about an hour. By a quarter past three everyone should have water again. At the time, people announced on social media that water was indeed coming out of the tap again.
The water production company was restarted just before three o’clock. Initially, according to a spokesperson for the water company, brown water will probably come out of the tap.
This can’t hurt. The advice is to let the water run for a while.
