The broker pool blau direkt is launching Qonekto, the new software solution for data connectivity between the broker management program Ameise and external productivity and automation tools. Until now, external applications could be connected via technical interfaces. In practice, however, this approach is more likely to be used by larger partners such as sales departments and pools. This is where the connectivity software Qonekto comes in.
Alte Leipziger offers occupational disability protection even in the case of previous mental illnesses
Since the beginning of September, customers with previous mental illnesses have also been able to take out occupational disability insurance with Alte Leipziger Lebensversicherung without having to postpone the conclusion of the contract as was previously the case. This works with the help of an exclusion clause for previous mental illnesses, whereby the occupational disability protection for all other contractual benefit triggers remains unaffected – e.g. cancer or joint diseases.
DFV with higher closing costs
DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG ended the first half of 2024 with an eight percent growth in insurance sales. As a result of planned increases in acquisition costs due to TV advertising campaigns, the operating result according to IFRS 17 decreased from EUR 5.0 million to EUR 2.4 million. The combined ratio increased from 92.0 percent to 96.5 percent in the first half of 2024. The consolidated result before taxes increased by around EUR 100,000 to EUR 4.1 million compared to the same period last year.

HanseMerkur supports sepsis diagnostics
HanseMerkur is entering into a strategic partnership with Noscendo GmbH. The Duisburg-based company has developed a technology for sepsis diagnostics. Put simply, algorithms are designed to identify infectious agents in the blood and thus help in the detection and treatment of sepsis. Sepsis is often referred to as blood poisoning and is one of the most common causes of death worldwide. In Germany, it is the third most common cause of death.
Hans John expands coverage concepts
Hans John Versicherungsmakler GmbH has worked closely with Ergo to implement extensions to the coverage concepts for financial loss liability insurance, after the concept with Allianz was recently significantly expanded. One of the key innovations is a clause that grants agents a provisional reimbursement of defense costs if there is a dispute as to whether an activity falls under the insured profession. In addition, new areas have been included in the insurance coverage, such as the use of artificial intelligence and activity as a blogger/influencer.
ECB lowers key interest rates
The Governing Council of the ECB decided today (12 September 2024) to reduce the interest rate on the deposit facility by 25 basis points. Specifically, this means a reduction from 3.75 percent to 3.50 percent.
