Physical keyboards are something that many of us use on a daily basis, but often they are quite boring – but functional, which is after all the most important thing. A keyboard that, however, tries to be a little more fun, without it being an RGB party, is the Altar I keyboard from the company Electronic Materials Office. As you can see in the pictures, the keyboard is not entirely unlike a synthesizer from Swedish Teenage Engineering. Much thanks to the rotary control and the concave number keys.
The company Electronic Materials Office, which manufactures the keyboard, says its goal is for its products to be durable, produced under good conditions and designed with care. The keyboard’s buttons must be produced from recycled plastic and the keys themselves are mechanical. The keyboard works with both macOS and Windows. Charging takes place via USB-C.
The price is currently at $349, and deliveries should start this fall. So far, however, there is no alternative with a Nordic layout.
