Altán Redes obtained a loan for 50 million dollars to continue with the redesign of the company and reorganize its financial commitments.

In a statement, the company chaired by Salvador Álvarez explained that the loan was obtained by shareholders under the regulation of the Commercial Bankruptcy Law, whose money is essential to maintain the operation of its network and telecommunications services to customers and users. end.

He added that the resources were obtained through a DIP (Debtor in Possession) credit agreement, which was authorized by a District Judge in Civil Matters in Mexico City.

It should be remembered that on August 2, Altán Redes was admitted to bankruptcy, the process of which is important for its restructuring process, since it currently has a financial debt of more than 17 billion pesos.

In this sense, the company acknowledged that it requested to enter bankruptcy due to the complications it had to negotiate the debt restructuring with its creditors Nokia and Huawei, which prevented it from injecting the capital increase that shareholders agreed with the company last April.

Altán Redes is in charge of deploying and operating La Red Compartida to provide coverage to 70 percent of the Mexican population, including social coverage to areas of high marginalization and national digital exclusion to cover 122 thousand localities with between 250 and 5 thousand inhabitants .
