Alta Gracia Weekend Event: Villa Roma Cultural Center Presents Music and Cinema Combination with Pianist Daniela Mercado

Among the activities that the city of Alta Gracia presents for this weekend, the Villa Roma cultural center offers a combination of music and cinema for all tastes. The show will be at 374 Achával Rodriguez Street, this Saturday, January 20 at 9:30 p.m., with an entrance fee of $2000. To reserve your place, you must call 3512530215.

The show will be led by pianist Daniela Mercado, who in dialogue with RESUMEN, mentioned that “I always knew that I wanted to make music. Since I can remember (I’m from La Rioja) I know that I wanted to play the piano, dedicate myself to music; and when I told my parents they told me that first I had to learn to read and write. They waited until I was 8 years old and that was where I started taking private piano lessons with the neighborhood teacher. Luckily I started and never stopped.”

“I have always been a person who dedicates myself to specific projects. In the last 3 years (at least), I have been composing works that I called “Cinematographic Stories”, which are compositions that I made inspired by films that I chose as a matter of taste. The compositional issue goes through there,” he said.

Regarding what can be seen in the show at the Altagracia space, the artist expressed that “In this show we are going to see these cinematographic stories (in part since I am mixing it up a bit). There are several that are accompanied by images of the films they represent. Afterwards, there will be a part where I will accompany some silent shorts by the first female filmmaker in history: Alice Guy.”

“The objective of the concerts is to share what artists do and show our music, in addition to keeping us moving to generate our livelihood and be able to continue with our work. My expectations are to always be as prepared as possible to give the best show,” she mentioned.

“It’s good to go out and listen to live music because there are connections and other things that don’t happen through a screen or a record. Back and forth energies are generated that are very beautiful. Furthermore, we must support independent artists,” concluded the pianist.
