Alstadt gets into e-sports

The football regional league team SpVgg Bayreuth is expanding its portfolio and, in addition to the football departments, also wants to support players in the steadily growing e-sports sector on their career path in the future.

As a first step, an 18-man squad with many years of experience for FIFA 21 Pro Clubs was convinced of a partnership. “We are happy that, after very intensive discussions in the last few weeks, we can now take this step and, as SpVgg Bayreuth, will provide a squad for Fifa from the coming e-sports season”, says Jan Bauermeister, assistant to the management who is responsible for the E-sports sees great potential: “With the engagement of the 18-man squad, the first step into the digital world of sport has been taken, and many more will follow.” Bauermeister is responsible for e-sports together with Senad Mecavica, who has been responsible for the social media presence of the old towners for over a month.
